THERAPEUTIC SERVICES
Esther works predominantly from a Psychodynamic orientation, which includes the use of attachment-based theory and approaches. This style of therapy has been referred to as insight-orientated therapy as it aims to explore why you may think, feel or behave the way you do. In this, it examines the deeper, unconscious motivations underlying your present struggles, which often originate from longstanding relational patterns that developed during your early experiences.
Alongside the depth of work described above, Esther also recognises that we all need strategies in the here and now, to help us regulate our emotional distress and increase our coping capacities. As such, Esther also draws upon other evidence-based treatment modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness.
Esther currently works with individual adult clients, to address a range of difficulties including (but not limited to):
- Depression and mood
- Anxiety and stress
- Trauma and abuse (past and present)
- Low self-esteem
- Grief and loss
- Adjustment
- Relational/interpersonal difficulties
